30/52

*A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2014.*

Matteo: Playing quietly by the window at the end of a second very long day in the hospital.  Nemo, a gift from your beloved cousin, and Tiger, a hospital adoptee, were close by your side for the duration of our stay.  The IV, also never far, became your greatest nemesis, keeping you from running and playing with your usual wild abandon.  It was heartbreaking to see you like this, eye swollen, dressed in a tiny hospital gown, clinging quietly to my shoulder.  We are so thankful that you are doing well now, and that we got to bring you home a day earlier than expected.
