39/52

*A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2014.*

Matteo: Sneaking a few bites of the pumpkin donuts you helped me make earlier that morning.  "Do some ba-king!  Mix it up!" are words heard frequently from you during our days together.  Baking together is a fun way to teach you patience (or, more accurately, for you to teach me patience).  When I turn away for a moment to grab the measuring cup, I usually turn back to find inventive things added to the batter--from spice bottles to little toy vehicles--that I don't remember being part of the original recipe.  Who needs a recipe, after all, when you have the confident imagination of a two year old on hand?
