* A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2017*

Matteo and Lilah:  We went pumpkin and apple picking this weekend.  It was extremely hot, so we weren't as motivated as we might have been on a cooler day, but it did feel a little like fall regardless.  In the pumpkin patch, Matteo immediately set about finding the biggest, bumpiest, best pumpkin he could, while Lilah picked up a few tiny ones with as much strength as she could muster.  At the orchard, Matteo was very serious about picking lots of apples and filled his bucket pretty quickly.  Lilah put a few apples into her bucket and then set about the serious business of taking tiny bites out of each one.  On the way back to the car, Brother gave Sister a lift because the ground was too bumpy and she kept tripping.  I really love these little family adventures with you two and I look forward to them every year.  It's amazing to see how the traditions change a little each time as you both grow and are able to be involved in new ways.
