-Week 34-

This weekend, Chris' department threw a baby shower for us.  It was really sweet!  There were carrot cupcakes (my favorite when I was little) and lots of fun language-themed baby games (since he works in the department of Foreign Languages).  Everyone kindly chipped in to buy us a gift certificate, so we bought some baby essentials for the nursery.  My favorite new thing is the "Sleep Sheep," which hangs from the crib and plays soothing sounds, like ocean waves and rain showers.  I love to sit in his room and listen to it--I've already dozed off a few times, too (a good sign, I think!)  The baby weighs about 4 pounds now, so I get pretty sleepy in the afternoons.  We also had our car seat safety class over the weekend.  It was very informative, but I still don't know how to put the car seat in correctly (it's more complicated than you'd think).  We're probably going to have it professionally checked just to be on the safe side.  The weather has been beautiful this week--today it's going to be 80!--so we've been enjoying walks outside and down by the river.  Una the beagle couldn't be happier about this turn of events.

P.S.  Yesterday was my Mamma's birthday--happy birthday to the loveliest lady I know!

  1. Oh, we have a sleep sheep too! Wesley's favorite sound is the ocean waves. Knocks him out rather quickly, letting us get some precious sleep! :)
