Matteo: It's the most wonderful time of the year! (La la la da dee da la la la!)  I feel giddy about the holidays this year because your excitement is so pure and palpable.  Christmas is such a magical time of year when you have kids because every detail from lights to Santa brings new squeals of delight.  "Mama, help us decorate the house!" I heard your little voice calling from downstairs after Papa dragged out the Christmas boxes.  "We're going to get the tallest tallest tree!  A million feet tree!" you claimed when we went to pick out our Christmas tree.  (In the end, you really liked a five foot tree.)  

Lilah: It's going to be your first Christmas soon!  You're not really worried about making Santa's list this year, but you're definitely interested in eating and staring at Christmas lights.
