Milestones: Matteo Rolls Over

Matteo rolled over for the first time on his four "month" (or 17 week) birthday (Chris counts by the date he was born, while I count by the weeks).  It was such an exciting moment!  I knew he was probably going to figure it out that day because I had caught him earlier that morning "practicing" in his crib while he was supposed to be napping.  I could tell he was really determined to figure it out, but couldn't quite make that last flip from his side to his stomach.  Now that he has, there's no stopping him!  Every time I put him down on his back he immediately lifts his little legs into the "ready" position and rolls right over like a pro.  He gets upset if we try to stop him--he loves his new skill!  We're really going to have to watch him closely now, though, because he hasn't figured out how to roll onto his back again.  I can tell he's pretty proud of himself, and we're completely proud and excited for him.  Next up: sitting and crawling!

  1. Hooray, Matteo!! Wesley doesn't like rolling over so much. He'll do it from time to time, but he actually likes tummy time somewhat now, and then when he gets frustrated, he buries his face, lifts his rear end, pushes with his feet, and starts to scoot forward! Our live are really going to change these next 6 months!!

  2. Auntie Judi here. Matteo is about 6 weeks younger than Dylan and Heather's little guy, Vincent. He's beautiful. I had so hoped you would be home for Thanksgiving this year so we could once again have all of our wee ones around for the holidays. We just met Vincent last weekend. Dylan and Heather moved back from Denmark (to Portland). Needless to say, he's absolutely wonderful and we are over-the-moon happy to have them close by once again. Thanks SO MUCH for your movie recommendation. I got your blog posting last night when I went to bed, hopped on to Amazon and rented it. What a precious movie. It was well worth the fact that I didn't get to sleep until 1:30 a.m. (and my alarm went off at 5:30). I love anything that Freddie Highmore does, and Helen Bonham Carter was great in this film. Keep the wonderful blogs coming please. It's always such a treat to get updates about family life for you guys, and the beautiful pictures of precious little Matteo that you're so brilliantly assemble. Love to all of you!
